We traipse through fields where deer bed down
Squishy, wet surface but frozen underneath
The muddy droplets only go calf high for the most part
Next, the edge of the woods, brambles, and multi-flora rose
Why did I wear a sweater?
Scanning side to side, looking for white
Looking for glisten
Looking for something to stick out
A find; a gift; a part not missed
Nature at its finest
