Moon rays startled my pupils
Squinting to minimize the aperture, I recall six hours ago
Sunshine greets me within this same window
I now dare to peer out taking in the dew diamonds on every blade of grass
Fall is here
The season has jump-started as if a switch had been flipped
Let it remain indefinitely
Until every leaf takes on its new colour and releases itself for the final journey.
