Age

In a glint of an eye, or lack thereof, our pets age as we do

We can’t usually see the pallor of their skin, just the texture of their fur

Less shiny, some dandruff, a coating on your hand after petting

Their teeth become less white

Their joints become less limber

Their cataracts mature

Their hearing is less keen

Just like us, they age

Some more gracefully than others

Humans justify human body failures

But we often can’t accept our pets failing as their natural cycle of life
