stock…this looks like me, back in the day

Mine was in ophthalmology

Early in life, ages sixteen to forty-two, helping people see

I fantasize what their optic nerves processed

A pilot could have every horizon impaled onto his retina in thin lines like rings in a tree

A marine biologist could blink away drops of every ocean, but never her own tears

A surgeon’s cornea could reflect pulsing blood vessels of every walk of life

These specialties mould us, shape futures, and allow us to really SEE what is all around us.
